Today my oldest turned 21 . . .

 Celebrating the big 21! and he is still so cute!

So I am going to combine a little stampin' with a little trip down memory lane plus a little glimse of the fun we had today.

Justin is kinda a flames and skull kid, as a matter of fact he has been since he was little. So that will explain the contraband background paper that I used for his birthday card - but beside the background paper the rest is Stampin' UP! so forgive me :)

I decided to use the Big Shot pop up cake card for his card (which my girlfriends all said . . . you made him a pop up card for his 21st????) But never worry, cuz I knew he would appreciate the mechanics and the engineering of it since he loves to take things apart and figure out how they work . . . but all I have to say is he better not take this card apart!

Meet My Newest Employee . . . Joseph

 

We have had some company the last few weeks and my nephew Joseph keeps telling everyone he needs a job . . . but you should know that he is only 10 years old. Since he has been here he has opened a bank account and ordered an ATM card . . . he has also been teaching Ace and his friends about starting a business.

So since I have been spending tons of time in my stampin' studio getting ready for convention he has been hanging with me and helping me . . . so you guess what that means? You got it! He has a job . . . he pulls paper out of the paper closet and counts it for me, punches my shapes, runs the big shot for what ever I need and in general is a great helper. The best part is my swaps are fantastic! Because in some cases I would cut out steps out in order to make the card more realistic to create in larger quantites.

Here is the card that we worked on together . . . plus he has been my design assistant for the next card we are working on so stay tuned.

PS - my design assistant is leaving on "vacation" tomorrow and will be gone a week so I will be back on my own until a week from Sunday!

Getting Ready for Stampin' Up! Convention

 

Since I have turned over a new leaf and have been keeping my stampin' space in order I thought that I should start my convention swaps early too! I just completed 32 3-D swaps with a Jumbo Clip Bookmark. I found these Yo-Yo Yellow bookmarks on a clearance rack earlier this year.

This card uses Green Galore, Basic Black, & YoYo Yellow Cardstock 

My Favorite New Stamp

This is one of the first stamps that caught my attention when flipping through the new Idea Book & Catalog and I knew I had to have it! This card was so simple . . . and was one of the cards from this weekends 10-10-20.

1. 8.5x5.5 Dusty Durango, folded in half
2. Layered with a 4x5.25 piece of Soft Suede
3. 3.875x5.125 piece of Very Vanilla with the Medallion stamped to the left, partially off the cardstock in Dusty Durango
4. Sponge entire image with Dusty Durango
5. Jumbo Eyelet in the middle of the Medallion
6. Pearl from the Pretties Kit on the middle of the eyelet with a glue dot
7. Saying is from "Wings of Friendship" a level 2 hostess set, punched with the large oval punch
8. Layered on a Tag from the Stampin' Up! Sizzlet Tag set in Soft Suede

4th of July Scrappin'

 

I have been keeping myself busy getting ready for this weekends scrapbooking class. Holding my scrappin' classes keeps me scrappin! I know that every month that I have a class I will get at least 8 pages done . . . 4 samples and then I scrap with you at class . . . for 4 more pages.

Since I know that I will never be fully caught up at least I am getting a little done. I have been thinking about offering ready made pages for sale . . . does this sound like something you would like? If so leave me a comment.

Nothing New Yet . . .

So my new goodies are set to arrive tomorrow! I can't wait to play with the new In Colors! In the mean time I am going to share one of my favorite cards from last weeks 10-10-20 class.

I really think that I am losing it! I could have sworn that Inspired by Nature was on the the Last Chance List . . . and I was so bummed! I love this set - so I created this card for my Last Chance Class last weekend. I was so happy to see it in the catalog!

Organization is KEY to my CREATIVE health!

 For those that have been wondering where I have been . . . you should know that ORGANIZATION is KEY to my creative health! When my stampin' studio is not organized and clean I don't even want to walk into it!

Since I held my first class in over 6 months last weekend it forced me to get things back in order! And just in time for the new catalog! I have found that I am more creative even wanting to email and blog.

So tonight I thought I would share some of my organization tips for stampin' supplies! Sorry about the quality of some of the photos - I must have had the settings off on my camera.

Starting off - this is my classroom space . . .

 

This is the main wall in my room - I have shelves that hold everything from Ribbons, Pretty Kits, extra ink pad, refills, adhesives etc.

 

  On my closet door that leads to my walk in closet that holds my paper and business supplies I have hung a shoe storage unit that holds/displays my cards for sale.

   I love these Ikea Photo holders they are perfect for displaying cards! Plus I used decor elements on my wall.

   

  My punches are put on Ikea dish towel racks . .. they are perfect for holding Stampin' Up! punches! Ikea also sells the hanging tins that I keep scissors, hand held punches, brushes etc.

 

and last but not least - I have a book shelf that holds all of my stamp sets and big shot and big shot dies. The stamp sets are organized by size and alphabetically.
