Cute & Trendy!

I love the set Trendy Trees (Item #113258) however, I have not used it as much as I should! So I broke it out for last weeks Many Thanks 10-10-20 Class. This card was so easy and very cute!

 

Here are the simple instructions for this card

1. Start with a piece of 4.25x11 piece of Soft Suede Cardstock and fold it in half to 4.25x5.5.
2. Take a piece of the striped Thoroughly Modern DSP that is 4.25x2 and layer it on the front of the card.
3. Tie Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Ribbon around card at the edge of the DSP.
4. Stamp saying from Trendy Trees in Soft Suede in the lower left corner of the card.
5. On a scrap of Whisper White stamp the top of the tree. Start by inking the tree leaves in Creamy Carmel and then use the brush tip of the Chocolate Chip and Bermuda Bay markers to "thump" color randomly on the trees. Then stamp and follow with the tree trunks stamped in Close to Cocoa.
6. Punch using the Curly Label Punch. Punch a 2nd piece of the Curly Label with Chocolate Chip. Cut the Chocolate Chip punched piece in 1/2 and layer on the back of the Whisper White piece.

Voila! A cute and simple card! Be sure not to miss out on my next 10-10-20 card class! Classes will be held on Friday, September 11th from 7pm to 9:30 pm and then repeats on Saturday morning from 9:30 am to 12pm.

Busy Getting Ready For This Weeks 10-10-20

This week I am frantically getting ready for my 10-10-20 Card Class on Friday Night & Saturday Morning. With Convention a couple of weeks ago I am finding myself a little behind . . . but I am finding all kinds of great inspiration from my swaps. So let me share a little about the process of getting ready for a card class . . . one of the most common questions asked me is "Do you come up with all these ideas by yourself?" and the answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT! I find ideas from swaps, Stampin' Up! my friends and other demos websites & blogs. For instance, this card is a swap from convention - I swapped with Tammy Wilson from Camarillo CA and she fits in all the catagories! Tammy is in my 3rd level. I had this card pulled out to use as inspiration and today it showed up on the Stampers Showcase on the Demo Site.

I am home . . . and I think recovered!

As usual Stampin' Up! Convention was tons of fun and not so much sleep! 10 Years ago when I became a demo I could go without sleep - now days not so much! However, it was lots of fun to see friends from all over the country and reconnect with my downline. This year we had the largest group ever with 17 of us.

There were lots of great announcements . . . and an opportunity for everyone in attendance to buy a Stampin' Up! Build a Bear :) I haven't been to the local Build a Bear store to buy clothes for my bear yet but here is my bear! The purchase of the bear coincides with the launch of the new Build a Bear product line that will be available for purchase starting in September. The 2nd picture shows a couple of bears that Carol G and I made at the Build A Bear Make & Take area. We die cut our bear and then dressed them using the clothing that was also die cut with the Sizzix machine!

  

Convention is finally here!

I am so excited to be in Salt Lake City for Stampin' Up's! annual convention. We arrived on Tuesday afternoon . . . did a little shopping and went out to dinner. Today we visited the memento mall and bought lots of logo goodies, drove to Riverton to tour the corporate offices . . . then dinner and off to Wendy's Meeting - lots of hugs and lots of stampin'.

Here is one of my swap cards that I designed for this convention - be on the look out for a version of this card in my next 10-10-20 card class on August 14th & 15th . . . and I have to say it is my favorite of the 4 cards I designed to swap! It uses the one of the new embossing folders, Flight of the Butterfly and the new butterfly punch that fits the butterfly perfectly!
